Sorry there was misunderstanding on my part. I'm probably in the wrong forum. I have regular HTC Vive, not Mobile VR

Hi @wirelessdreamer ,
Not sure where do you get the device?
If you purchase from China, the latest version is 1.69, and if it's applied from developer website it's 1.91.
If you still see 1.58 and no more new system update, please pm with your S/N and I can help to check internally for FOTA.

I ordered it through the us developer program, and submitted my serial number to you when you asked for it on 11-30-2018.

I am currently on 1.69.1405.1 of the firmware (system 5.0). It was mentioned that there was a 1.91 update previously in this thread. Would there be a possibility of updating to this version manually (as currently it states that 1.69 is the latest when i attempt a system update from within the device)
What newer features and fixes does 1.91 have over 1.69?

Hi @thealgo1234 ,
Let me clarify this way:
If you order device from developer website, it's DK (developer kit) and the latest ROM is 1.91.
And if the device is originally ordered from China, which we call commerical version the latest ROM is 1.69.
The main difference between is developer ROM might include the coming features support we'd ask developer to develop and try in advance (for example 6Dof support).
Hope this clarification is helpful.

I have to chime in on this one. The moment I put the headset on my face and played the first demo, I had a deep concerned feeling this is what the consumers see and feel as well. It is incredibly uncomfortable to wear and the light leak that comes through either side of the headset is pretty bad and breaks immersion no matter what project.
Granted we only have a dev-kit at the moment so the consumer version might be better, but couple the light leak with the lens distortion issue and this standalone headset quickly loses its appeal. I'd really like to see Vive release a different foam covering/insert as well as implement a software fix. It is the very least they could do if they expect people to pay $700 for the device. Even then, it seems like a ridiculously high cost for what I have been able to get this device to ouput in regards to quality and fidelity.
I don't like to complain, and nor do I like doing it when we are working to help Vive release content for Focus platform. With that said, these glaringly obvious issues should have never left the QA engineers desks.

Hi, we are experiencing the same problem with a new Focus Plus.

Hi @NickAVT ,
May I clarify a little bit further?
Have you used Focus before and compared the distortion still exist on Focus Plus?
Or you only see the issue on new device?
