3DOF controller to enabling 6DOF Using Focus Camera

I'm confused, I've read that the new update supports camera tracking of the 3DOF controller to enabling 6DOF. Is this true and how can I activate and run it in Unity?

Do you mean System Update we released recently?

Or any news that you heard from this CES 2019?

A few places but here is one: "HTC released the first major software overhaul for the Vive Focus standalone VR headset. The new update includes several new features, such as smartphone integration, 6-DoF (degrees of freedom) controller support, and improved expandable storage support."

I guess that 6dof controller update was possibly support for upcoming controllers (rather than utilising the 3dof controller with camera to emulate 6dof).  Looking forward to the 3dof-6dof update if/when it comes out

This is the technology prototype we were trying half years ago, and we do have more good news to share regarding to 6Dof solution.
