Compositor is unable to create device?

My vive keeps getting errors on steam that are umbers 306 and 405, there are no responses to this on steam so wondered if there was a fix to these errors. Thanks in advance.

Couple of questions: What version of graphics driver are you using? What version of SteamVR (release or beta?) Did this always happen or has it started recently?

If your base station has a Fault 02/03 error or a red light or both, the ONLY solution is to contact our support on vive.com and set up an RMA. There is no user fix for this issue.

Hi, my driver is Intel(R) HD Graphics 530 Version 21.20.16.4534

I@m using the beta version of steam vr and it's just started happening yesterday, I've had the Vive for about a month now and it's been working fine since yesterday.

@JoeTheHoe69, the SteamVR beta updated  yesterday (7/19) to build 1500427240 and several people have reported issues but none that I've seen that match your symptoms. Can you try depreciating to the public build of SteamVR and report back if your headset is found agian after the downgrade.

Hi, i've reverted to the public build of steamvr but still get the same two errors 106 and 405 😕

After a follow up PM I've learned that this issue was fixed by the user reverting their Intel graphics driver to version 21.21.13.7654. Keeping this thread open in case anybody experiences a similar issue.

Where can I find this version/install this version of the driver -- I have the same issue and the same drivers but I'm running on a later version and don't know how to go back to version 21.21.13.7654. Thanks!

Turns out I needed to rollback my NVIDIA drivers, but worked all the same. Thanks!
